Mountain Mike’s Tour Guide Mike McKean obtained a minor in biology from Northland College (a leading environmental private college) in Ashland, WI.
He is a known wildlife manager and shares stories about the noticeable changes in the Yellowstone and Teton National Park animal habitats.
Mike has lived in Wyoming for 15 years, and has hosted tours since 2008. As a tour guide, he is most proud of his ability to find wildlife. On the last tour of the 2010 season, one family saw seven different bear groupings (black bears, color-faced black bears and grizzlies) in one 12-hour day.
One of his favorite memories includes taking a class of 5th graders to see Molly’s Pack (the Alpha pack of wolves from Yellowstone) at close range. He remembers the excitement on the faces of the children, and believes that seeing is believing.
